Southern Eels Australia harvests wild eels from the natural lakes and rivers of south eastern Australia.

We produce longfin (Anguilla reinhardtii) and shortfin (Anguilla australis) eels from the clean waters of Gippsland and the Western District of Victoria.

Our harvesting strategies are consistent with the requirements of the Australian Commonwealth Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act (1999) and the 2017 Victorian Eel Fishery Management Plan, ensuring the long term sustainability of our eel stocks and the environment.

Eels are harvested live, transported to our holding facility in Sale, Gippsland, purged in clean cool water and packed live for air freight to export markets.
